This month I am going with a book called The Tiger by John Vaillant. The Tiger is one of those books you find yourself thinking about weeks after you’ve finished it. The story revolves around the hunt for a Siberian Tiger that has killed two men in one of the bleakest, most remote parts of Russia, a place even further removed from civilization than Siberia. What makes the story unusual is that the team hunting the Tiger after the killing of the first man comes to realize that the tiger is chosing its victim quite deliberately and then hunting him down and ambushing him right next to his own front door. The reason behind this action and the fascinating story of the people involved makes this a terrific read. Non-fiction this time, but it reads like fiction.
