Shoal of Time a History of the Hawaiian Islands by Gavan Daws
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Shoal is the history of the Kings of Hawaii from Kamehameha 1 to the end of the monarchy in the late 1900s. The story is true, but the events are incredible and compelling. How the Hawaiian Islands were discovered and eventually subverted by the US and the European powers makes for great storytelling.

t. Of course, like most of your fans, the Shannara series is my favorite. In short, I am a screenplay writer, producer and director. I am not Warner Bros, but I am capable of getting financing and doing a film. Unfortunately, not $100 million films. However, I believe that your The Word and the Void series would be lower cost to make, equally as compelling, and a great way to launch the Shannara program. I would love the opportunity to explore that option. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you. Jeff
Dear Mr. Brooks,
My hobby is collecting autographed pictures of noted personalities. I would like to add your picture to my collection. I have been a big fan of yours for years having read almost all of your books. If this is possible, for an autographed picture, I THank You. If this is not possible, good luck with all of your endeavors.
Sincerely Yours,
