Random House, Del Rey Books, and Suvudu.com has posted the First 50 Pages of Bearers of the Black Staff!
This is great. Despite the book hitting high on the New York Times list, I’m sure there are a number of Terry Brooks fans who have been waiting for the second and final book, The Measure of the Magic, to publish before reading Bearers. Well, now you can read the first 50 pages of it without spending a dime!
Of course, Terry and I’d rather you spent a dime once you’ve read those pages. But that’s neither here nor there. 🙂

Bearers of the Black Staff is in fine bookstores right now, in paperback. The Measure of the Magic publishes Tuesday, August 23rd!
Can’t wait to talk to you guys about it!

I have already read “Bearers of the Black Staff”. I await with bated breath “The Measure of the Magic”. This is another great hit, and now I also prepare to patiently wait for “The Legacy of Shannara coming out next year; would that it could be sooner, but alas, the waiting is all part of the fun. Thank you Terry for doing such a wonderful job.
Oh. And I have also ordered a signed copy from the “Signed Page” (Bearers that is). Thank you Shawn.
I am halfway through Bearers of The Black staff at the moment. Trying to take it slowly while I wait for Measure. I am going to have to stay away from this website for a while so as not to get any spoilers since it doesn’t come out here in the UK until Sept. 1st. Already have my copy ordered and PAID for. 🙂
I have reread the Bearers of the Black Staff and am anxiously awaiting Measure of the Magic! Who won the second competition for early copies of Measure?
Visit the Facebook/Twitter pages for their names. 🙂
I have not read the Sword of Shannara series in many years but since I purchased my Kindle, I can’t put down Terry Brooks’, Shannara universe. I even find myself missing the characters between book to book. For those that would like to visualize the apocalyptic world depicted in Terry Brooks’ books, take a look at the old movie, “The Stand”.
