Touring with Terry – Saturday – The Irene Tour – Concord, NH

Up early and off to the car rental agency for our transportation north. A fairly easy drive to New Hampshire. The trees are barely beginning their transformation. Occasionally a flaming red will appear amidst the green. Another couple of weeks and it will be glorious. We passed both Moose Crossing and Bear Crossing signs, but sadly, saw neither.

Concord is a sweet little town – busy with a Farmer’s Market underway. Gibson’s is a lovely bookstore and brought in a substantial crowd. Terry signed steadily for three hours. Afterward we hit the road again for points north. A really easy, pretty drive. Great rest stops on the way – very picturesque.

No more events today, thank goodness.

We enjoyed one of the best meals EVER this evening at L’Amante in downtown Burlington (Vermont, this time). Deep fried squash blossoms, asparagus ravioli, delicious duck; suddenly it all seems worthwhile.

Time for a good night’s sleep. No need to rise early tomorrow for our 1 o’clock signing in Shelburne – it’s only five miles away.

  1. I attended the book signing in Shelburne, VT. I had never been to a signing before, and didn’t know what to expect. I am so glad I went! I had a great time.

My college-aged son and I are both huge fans. I taped the beginning of the signing for him and posted it for him to see down at school. He is very jealous that ‘mom’ got to meet Terry, but he has a few signed books to show for the meeting.

Thank you so much for visiting our town, and hopefully my son will get the chance to meet Terry at some point!

  2. I was there at Gibson’s in Concord, NH, and just wanted to comment that it was a thoroughly enjoyable morning. I appreciated his candor, humor, and generosity and that after 35 years in the business he still respects his audience so much. I got a couple of books signed, we exchanged a few words in which he encouraged me not to give up on my own writing, and I got my picture taken with him. It was absolutely the highlight of my year so far. Thank you so much for coming out this way.
