Bloodfire Quest will be published March 12, 2013!

And with the new book comes a new tour!

Terry will be hitting the road for Bloodfire Quest, the second book in The Dark Legacy of Shannara trilogy, meeting his fans and signing thousands of books before it is done. For those of you who haven’t gone to a Terry Brooks event and he’s coming near you, do it! It is a fun experience. Terry will be reading an excerpt from Witch Wraith or possibly the third short story he will be writing soon, taking questions from the audience, and signing books.

He will sign all of the books that you have. He just asks that those of you with dozens of books to wait at the back of the line as a nicety to the other fans.

And yes, Terry doesn’t mind pictures. Hope to see some of them posted on his Facebook and Twitter accounts!

Here are the dates, events, and times for the tour, as well as the other events Terry will be partaking in 2013! As you can see, he will be doing two conventions this year as well!

THE WITCH WRAITH TOUR

Terry will be doing a tour for Witch Wraith, the last book in The Dark Legacy of Shannara trilogy! Details concerning dates and stores will be available in June 2013.

For those of you who can’t meet Terry when he does go on tour and yet still want to have a book signed or personalized for you, this website holds an online signing at The Signed Page. There, a fan can purchase the book for cover price and Terry signs it. This is a service Terry enjoys doing since he obviously can’t visit every city on his tour.

If you have any questions about the tour, just post them in the comments below. I’ll do my best to answer them.

  1. Great news on Changing Hands in Tempe/Phoenix, AZ and ComicCon Phoenix!
Shawn, am I going to see you in Phoenix too?

  2. Finally a day that I don’t have some kind of college interference. The last two tours that have gone to Powell’s that I have tried to make it to have been on the first day of class for me. I have horrible luck I suppose. But I don’t have Tuesday classes this term!

  3. so shawn here we go again, I set my vegas vacation for that week… i can’t believe im gonna miss him again. Nooooooooo

  4. I knew I should have gone to the tour last year when he was near the Chicago area! Dang job holding me back from everything that’s epic awesome!!! Well, hopefully something it bring Terry back here soon. =)

  5. Any chance coming to Pennsylvania such as Pittsburgh Pennsylvania? Would love to get a book signed and meet Terry in person.

  6. What – no Colorado again??? Been close to 10 years since the last time. Hopefully for the next tour Colorado will be one of the stops!!

  7. Terry you were up here in Anchorage in 1994 and it would be great to see you up here again. My wife and I have been married 34 years and have enjoyed reading your books over the years.

  8. Mr. Brooks,

I have been a huge fan of yours for years, Shannara is my absolute favorite book series. I see you are doing a book tour, but I don’t see any east coast dates. I live in Orlando, FL and I would love to see a book signing over here if it is possible. I do understand you are very busy.

  9. Ya know Terry, you always go to Washington and Oregon, maybe a little side trip to Boise should be planned. I would love to meet you and would even travel the 4 hours from where I live (little ol’ Idaho Falls) to come to a signing in Boise if you came…

    • We don’t know. It is not a book friendly state compared to other states. Especially fantasy books. And publishers usually send authors on the road to areas where they get the most bang for their buck. So keep your fingers crossed!

  10. I live up in cold, cold New England. I am sure Terry will want to stay away from there. But I am counting the days till I can sit in my comfortable recliner and spend the cold days reading “Bloodfire Quest.”

  11. Was just wondering if Terry ever makes it to the Midwest or East Coast? Seems the entire tour is based on the West Coast or overseas. I’ve been reading his books since I was 13 & now I am almost 35. I’ve even had the honor of writing him a letter & having him write me back when I was much younger. Would just love a chance to shake his hand & thank him for all the years of amazing stories. I am now reading “Magic Kingdom for Sale – SOLD!” to my 10 year old daughter, so I make Terry Brooks a family favorite! Come to NW Michigan, Terry! Much love & thanks for all the great adventures so far!

  12. Is Terry going to be at comic con everyday? I don’t want to come down for a day and have it be the day he’s not there.

  13. I’ve also had the best experience of writing a letter and making a card and getting a letter in return and the only thing better that that (and of course reading his books) would be to meet him in person. Is there a time in a year or several years that Terry would visit Cnada (Toronto)? Thanks!

    • Probably not, Ernest. The publisher sends Terry where the majority of book sales come from (i.e. where the most fantasy readers live for the most bang for their buck). And Arkansas is not one of those places, sadly. But ya never know. If you want to, feel free to write Del Rey Books and request Terry to come to your local bookstore — or have your local bookstore manager write the publisher and ask. Cheers!

  14. Is there a plan or a at least a thought about Terry coming to Canada somewhere in the near (or further) future? I know I’ve asked that before, but I still don’t know.:)

  15. Hey shawn I was just wondering who decides where Mr. Brooks goes on his book tours? And how come its only certain parts of the country?

    • Book tours are scheduled by publicists. Terry will mention some of the places he wants to go but the publicists have the final say. Publishers like sending authors to areas where there are a lot of fantasy readers to get the most bang for their buck (it costs a lot of money to fly authors, drive authors, and put authors up in hotel rooms).

For instance, Florida has a small fantasy reading segment of the population compared to others in the country. Therefore, Terry never goes there because the odds are better for him to go to places where there are more fantasy readers.
