For many years the only chance a fan had of speaking to Terry was to meet him at tour events or conventions. Now with the establishment of this website, Terry will accept two questions from each fan per month. On the last day of the month, five questions will be randomly drawn. Terry will answer these five questions and they will be posted monthly for your enjoyment.
Below are the questions selected last month and Terry’s answers! Enjoy!

Dear Readers,
A bit late, but that’s what happens when you try to do 3 books in the space of a year. It’s all the promotional work and events that cut into your time. Or maybe I am just making excuses . . .
So here are the answers to February’s Ask Terry:

Terry Brooks replies: At present, there are no plans for any further graphic novels. Trying to adapt one of the short stories makes sense, but for the moment that’s just one more project I don’t have time for. Maybe somewhere down the road, we can get back on track with this.

Adam Tricola writes: Loved the new Garet Jax short, but it made me want more about him. Have you ever considered writing a stand-alone about his life before Wishsong? The short mostly just made me sad to remember that there’s nothing more about him…
Terry Brooks replies: There is a good chance of this happening, although I don’t have the right story just yet. Be patient.

Jason Chipperfield writes: Panamon Creel is a very flambouyant caracture. Is it likely there will ever be books based on this person?
Terry Brooks replies: There is always a possibility of further Panamon tales, but . . . Well, see above.

Andrew Gorley writes: In Wards of Faerie you introduce the character The Speakman. Is this at all a nod to Shawn himself?
Terry Brooks replies: Indeed. That is why The Speakman is half crazy and a recluse. I go for reality as much as possible. Also, he is kind of lacking in the personal care department, sort of like he lives out in a cave and forages for roots and bugs to stay alive. Guess I should pay him better.

Justin McKinney writes: My question is about everybody’s favorite Straken Lord, Tael Riverine. At the time of Elfstones, the Dagda Mor seemed to be firmly in charge of the Demons in the Forbidding. My question is, was Tael Riverine around at that time as well? Did he move in to fill the power vacuum left by the Dagda Mor’s death? Or was Tael born after that time? I’d just be curious to know what kind of dynamic may have existed between these two demons.
Terry Brooks replies: Because of the gap of time that elapsed between the two books, I had always envisioned that Tael Riverine’s rise came much later and he was not around at the time of the Dagdo Mor or the latter would have gotten rid of him as a potential threat. But that’s one of those areas I purposely leave blank so you can use your imagination. What do you think?

About to begin a new book. Time to get lost again. As if I was ever found. . .
Take care of one another,

Please completely fill in the form below and send the two questions you want to ask Terry this month.

Lol. See you in slc.
And again, Shawn is Terry’s whipping boy. Love it! LOL
When Shawn gets to write his own Shannara novel, look out, Terry.
