The Sorcerer’s Daughter by Terry Brooks publishes June 14, 2016!
It is the third and final book in the Defenders of Shannara series, a set of three stand alone books that are loosely connected by characters and theme. The novels have been far more personal in their construction, the stories focused on two or three characters and the hardships they encounter.
In my opinion, The Sorcerer’s Daughter is the strongest of the three. It all builds to this story.
More news about the forthcoming book is coming in the months ahead!

Looking forward to it as well as The Shannara Chronicles!
Fantastic! Can we plug the talented artist for his/her beautiful work?
Wish I knew.
I can’t wait to read this next book being an Aussie fan it seems like we wait forever between books
I have every one of the Shannara books it is the series that took my imagination from my first encounter with the sword of shannara in 1984
Thanks Shawn.
Very cool cover. I like the art.
Quite a nice cover, albeit quite Sharon Stone fatal attraction!!!
Anything written by Terry Brooks peaks my interest.
Looking forward to collecting all 3 books.
I like it. I’d give it a 7/10. Quality artwork, nice color scheme. I do realize that at some point in the 1990s it must have become un-hip to put an actual scene from the book on the cover, I do miss that. The covers have been crisper and cleaner since then, but don’t leave me thinking “Woah, what’s going on there?! I can’t wait to read this to find out!” Not to say I judge a book by it’s cover, but it does matter some. But, all in all, a nice cover.
This cover is awesome. Whoever is doing the cover art for the Defenders of Shannara trilogy is killing it!
The cover for Sorcerer’s Daughter is 100% better than High Druid’s Blade and Darkling Child covers! Very different from the Shadowy Figure … we seen before! Will the OTHER TWO BOOKS be getting New Cover Art too???
I’m always up for something new in the Shannara universe, but I am really curious to know if Terry plans to do another book with Panterra Qu? The story with him and Prue Liss was kind of left hanging. We know that Pan is destined to take the people of the valley out into the world, but Is sure love to know what happens along the way. Come on, Terry! Give us a third book in this part of the saga, please!
Unfortunately, no, Panterra’s story is over. The valley is open. The Four Lands are waiting. And the people inside the mists can now populate a whole new land. When Terry returns to the pre-Shannara novels, he will begin a hundred or two hundred years after Measure of the Magic with a whole new cast.
